Hisao – Bushido Commission

I don’t do much commission work as I tend to prefer working on my own projects at my own schedule, but when I was approached by GCT Studios and asked if I’d paint something for their Bushido game I was definitely interested.

Bushido is, unsurprisingly, a fantasy Oriental themed game that has a lot in common with AEG’s Legend of the Five Rings in terms of setting, and it’s a setting and game that has a lot of appeal for me. In fact one of my aims for the year is to get my own Cult of Yurei faction starter painted up and game-worthy, along with a 2′ Oriental themed gameboard.

Anyway, here are some more pics of the piece I painted for GCT: Hisao, a Temple of Ro-Kan elder.

He was a pleasure to paint, and it’s nice to see a wargame miniature that’s not all armour and weapons.

The spring flowers were a first for me and I was really happy with how they came out. Basically I used some yellow flower flock that I carefully dotted on some static grass with a cocktail stick. Pretty easy to do.

Anyway, I encourage you to head on over to the GCT Studios website and check out the other cool models from their Bushido range.
