Toxic Tilly

And here’s Tilly finished just in time to be entered into the Rae of Sunshine online painting competition over on Platoon Britannica.

Toxic Tilly - Base Close-Up

Mrs Von D thinks I’m bonkers to do such tiny detailing on things like the oil barrel – it’s Miniature Madness I tell you!

Have to say I’m rather chuffed with the whole thing. Many thanks to Mark and Jani for helping me choose the colour scheme. I think I’ve stayed pretty close to the colour gamut and the hue complements seem to be working.

You may notice that the base is a little bit revised from when I showed the initial build. I had a slight disaster when one of the small spheres came off and ripped away a section of plaster. I ended up rebuilding the gloop section but it did allow me the opportunity to add the floating barrel (actually inspired by Mark’s suggestion of having a railing in the water).

Now I hope the Platoon Britannica folks like her 🙂

  1. Fantastic miniature and as stated just full of detail. I particularly like the reflective light of the toxic green.

    Very well done.

  2. Awesome work, the OSL is particularly effective, it really looks like the goop is glowing.

    • Cheers James 🙂

Yep, I’m chuffed with it. I did wonder if I was going to have to push the goop to a lighter yellow-white to look more like a light source but I think it works as is.

I’m particularly pleased with the green flash on the underside of her left leg, best seen in image three I think.

  3. You are THE Zohan! You know you may always ask to make my minis “silky-smooth”. Seriously, good job. OSL looks amazing. Only thing I could complain about is lack of glow underneath boobs (although I may have just missed it due to smallish screen).

    • Heh, thanks Martin. Not sure what the Zohan is but I’m going to assume it’s a good thing 🙂

There is indeed green underglow on the boobs and I can neither confirm nor deny that I had fun painting that specific part of the miniature.
