Unboxing Captain America
For my birthday this week, Gigi got me a fantastic Captain America miniature by Knight Models.
Here he is unboxed…
Not had a chance to look through it in too much detail but the sculpt looks gorgeous and the detailing is superb. Can’t wait to get this one painted up.
He’s from the 70mm range so it’s going to be something different for me to work at this scale. I’ve worked pretty much exclusively with 28-32mm wargame stuff up until now. I reckon a bit of airbrushing could feature to get some nice smooth blends going on those larger areas. We’ll see.
As you can see the miniature comes in eight separate white metal pieces including a scenic base and plastic plinth. There’s a Limited Edition info/stat card (text entirely in Spanish incidentally), and it all comes packed in a rather nice tin.
I’m very impressed so far. Next step will be to clean up the minor bits of flash and see how well he fits together.
Knight Models are a Spanish company who are fairly new on the scene. They’ve got licenses to produce Marvel and Star Wars collectors miniatures and putting out some fantastic stuff.
Check out their website for some pretty incredible sculpts including a rather nice Luke with Yoda backpack which I may have to get at some point.
Anyway, to the left here is their Cap all finished up by a staff painter. It’s a little bit intimidating but I’ll give it my best shot.
Cap just rocks.
